Toyota out to steal Tokyo limelightPOSTED BY Nigel Andretti ON 12 October 2015
TOYOTA will storm the Tokyo Motor Show with three cars that will headline its lineup and one of them is getting a lot of social media buzz, especially among car fanatics.
Some are calling the little S-FR (main pic) concept a baby Toyota Scion FR-S. It’s about 25 centimetres shorter than the FR-S, yet Toyota managed to squeeze four seats into the cabin.
It is a classic front-engine/rear-drive layout, and while no engine details were released, Toyota it would have “optimal weight distribution.”
Then there’s the Kikai concep (above)t, with a central driver’s seat flanked just behind by two passenger seats with visible suspension and a sort of moon buggy look.
The third Toyota show car is the FCV Plus (below), a fuel cell concept that runs on four electric motors.
