This year’s contributions were given to the Borneo Conservation Trust which received a Toyota Fortuner, while the Malaysian Nature Society and World Wide Fund for Nature, Malaysia both received RM 77,000.
UMW Toyota Motor deputy chairman Akio Takeyama said: “We would like to extend our gratitude to the various contributors from corporate companies as well as individual donors who have donated generously and towards this cause as we continue to fuse beautiful music and corporate social responsibility.”
UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd president Datuk Ismet Suki said: “We have seen the good works done by these NGOs in preserving and conserving wildlife in Malaysia. Their unrelenting effort and commitment have impressed us, and we are happy to support their noble causes by channelling the proceeds from this year’s Toyota Classics so that they can continue protecting Malaysia’s wildlife.”
