TOTAL October sales of Subarus in the US jumped a significant 25 percent over the same month last year on the back of strong sales across its range.
Its new 2015 Legacy set a new monthly sales record of 6,362 vehicles while 12,971 units of the compact crossover Forester rolled out of showrooms last month versus 12,581 in October 2013.
Other models such as the Outback, WRX/STI and XV Crosstrek fared well in the same month, selling 12,624, 2,085 and 5,372 vehicles respectively.
For the period of October 2014, SOA sold a total of 43,012 vehicles compared to 34,483 in October 2013.
Subaru’s year-to-date sales (from January to October) rose 20 percent with a total of 418,497 vehicles sold against 347,890 achieved in the same period last year.
Subaru said it expected sales for 2014 to surpass last year’s annual sales record of 426,683 vehicles putting it on track to notch a sixth year of record growth.
“We have consistently been achieving sales records over the past six years. This success would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our retailers, employees and independent distributors,” Subaru America president and chief operating officer Thomas J Doll.
