Subaru’s crossover XV model was introduced to the Japanese market in September. Initial response from Japanese buyers have been very positive, with first month sales exceeding the XV’s monthly sales target by four times.
According to Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (FHI), the manufacturer of Subaru automobiles, cumulative sales of the Subaru XV has reached 4,277 units within one month, four times the XV’s monthly sales target of 1,000 units.
The top of the range 2.0i-L EyeSight grade accounts for over 82 percent of the XV’s sales. The mid-range 2.0i-L contributed 10 percent while the remaining orders came from the base model 2.0i.
Motor Image will be launching the Subaru XV in Malaysia in December this year. The XV will be locally assembled at Tan Chong’s plant in Segambut, which will also export the XV to regional markets including Thailand and Indonesia.
The XV is now available for preview at selected Motor Image outlets in Malaysia. Between 3-4 November, the XV will be on display at Motor Image’s showroom in Cheras and on 10-11 November in Petaling Jaya.
