UP to RM50,000 worth of prizes are to be won in the 2014/2015 edition of the Scania Driver Competition (SDC) which is open to all qualified drivers of trucks and buses from Malaysia and Singapore.
Participants can practice their skills before the main event at the Scania exhibition area at the Malaysia International Bus Truck and Components (MIBTC) exhibition from May 14th kepada 16th.
The competition marks the return of Michelin to the SDC as the official tyre.
Michelin Malaysia managing director Beltran Yturriaga said: “Choosing the right tyres are critical to the performance of drivers who are entrusted to carry very heavy loads that could vary from dangerous goods to precious passengers with powerful Scania vehicles.
“We are excited to once again be part of this prestigious competition and will give our fullest support to Scania for promoting skill sets to these drivers and elevating the standards of safety in the transportation industry in Malaysia.”
lebih 100,000 pemandu dari 50 countries have participated since 2003 in the Scania drivers competion.
“Drivers are the single most important asset for an operator in terms of fuel-efficient and safe driving. We are happy to have Michelin share this same belief. A well-trained and well-coached driver can get the best out of a Scania with Michelin tyres,” said Scania Southeast Asia marketing and communications manager, Ian Tan.
Shortlisted finalists for both categories will then compete to be the champion at the practical test in August 2015.
