Mercedes brings out the SLS AMG GTPOSTED BY admin ON 05 June 2012
Mercedes-Benz has introduced the SLS AMG GT, a more power variant of their SLS AMG super car, which is available in both Coupe and Roadster form.
Headlining performance improvements is a 0.1 second quicker 0-100km/h acceleration, and a 3km/h higher electronically limited top speed.
These improvements are thanks to power from the naturally-aspirated 6.3-litre V8 cranked up from 563hp to 583hp, though torque figures are retained at 650Nm.
The 7-speed dual-clutch transmission is said to have been optimised with a shorten reaction time to improve gear changes.
The SLS GT’s Ride Control suspension system now comes with a stiffer spring and damper setting , and does without the SLS’ ‘Comfort’ setting, leaving ‘Sport’ and ‘Sport Plus’.
Subtle visual cues set the SLS GT apart from the regular SLS with darkened headlamps and tail lights, high-gloss finish on the wing-shape fins on the nose, wing mirrors, and bonnet fins, and ‘GT’ badging on the boot.
The cabin now gets trimmed with Alcantara bits, with red seat belts, and contrasting red stitching on the sport seats, centre console, and door panel lining.
