Mercedes-Benz is  set to launch its all-new GLC-Class on June 17 in Stuttgart.

The new GLC-Class is designed to replace the eight-year-old GLK-Class, doing away with its predecessor’s boxy lines and coming with more fluid styling.

Mercedes released a teaser sketch that reveals the GLC with elongated headlights, a shield-shaped grille with two slat and a hood accented by a pair of power domes.

It is expected to be identical to the C-Class mechanically, with base models coming with a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine able to deliver a maximum of 241hp and a maximum of 310Nm of torque.

Higher  versions will have a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 mill capable of delivering 329 horses and 480Nm of torque.

The C-sourced engines, mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission, in the new GLC is expected to boost its fuel efficiency by 19 per cent compared with the GLK.

The new GLC-Class is expected to be shown to the public at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September and landing in showrooms as a 2016 model before the end of the year.
