Growing from strength to strength, the Malaysia Commercial Vehicle Expo 2019 was keenly attended by exhibitors and visitors at the Mines Exhibition Centre.
Themed “The future of transportation in Malaysia”, the three-day show organised by Asian Trucker was officially opened by the Deputy Minister of Transport, Datuk Kamarudin Jaffar on Thursday 20 June.
“The concepts of the last mile transport and e-commerce have spurred developments but are also requiring us to rethink processes, legislation and the way we work. To stay competitive, all of us must embrace new technologies,” said Kamarudin.
In conjunction with the show, Volvo Trucks Malaysia celebrated its 50th anniversary at the MCVE and organised a seminar “The future of electromobility”.
Swedish Motor Assemblies was formed in 1966 as a joint venture between AB Volvo and Federal Auto Company Sdn Bhd and the SMA plant was opening in Batu Tiga Shah Alam in 1968.
Officially opened by the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Lim Swee Aun, the plant is arguably the first automobile assembly plant in Malaysia.
