Impreza WRX STI now here in sedan form

Though Motor Image Malaysia couldn’t preview the Subaru BRZ coupe as planned earlier, they instead launched the Impreza WRX STI sedan at the Sepang International Circuit, in conjunction with the Malaysian round of the Super GT endurance race series.

Like all its predecessors, the Impreza WRX STI uses Subaru’s trademark Boxer engine and Symmetrical All-Wheel drive system, with either a 5-speed automatic or 6-speed manual.

Basically a sedan version of Subaru’s current Impreza model range, the WRX STI sedan uses the same 2.5-litre turbocharged boxer engine which produces 296hp and 407Nm of torque, and features the same Subaru Intelligent Drive (SI-Drive) system which allows the driver to select driving modes to suit their driving style.

According to Subaru, the WRX STI sedan has improved high speed downforce thanks to its deep front bumper, side sills, and its huge rear spoiler.

The WRX STI sedan comes with a nett selling price of RM249,000 for the 6-speed manual.

Motor Image says that they will be expanding their presence in Malaysia with the introduction of two new outlets in the Klang Valley and Penang, in anticipation of the introduction of the locally assembled XV crossover later this year.
