TAKING centre stage at the ongoing Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show is the new Honda BR-V seven-seater SUV prototype.
Cars Bikes & Trucks understands that the BR-V production model will only be launched in Asia early 2016. Based on information available so far, the BR-V combines the exterior of a regular SUV and the interior of an MPV.
Powering the machine is a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine paired with either the latest 6-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission (CVT). As such, the BR-V gets about 120hp of output and 145Nm of torque.
Honda has given the BR-V its newest grille, LED taillights, roof rails for all variants as well as 16-inch aluminium wheels and a multi-info display.
In terms of safety features, the model comes equipped with dual front SRS airbags, ABD with EBD, vehicle stability assists, hill start assist and frontal 3-point limiters with pretensioners and ISOFIX.
The Honda BR-V will be sold in the Indonesian market from 230 million to 265 million Rupiah (RM68,449 to RM78,866). It is expected to make its way to other showrooms throughout Asia as well after its Indonesian debut.
