2015 NST-MAI Asean Autoshow: Luck of the draw for sixPOSTED BY ON 03 February 2016
A prize presentation ceremony for the winners of two contests organised in conjunction with the 2015 NST-MAI Asean Autoshow was held this week at the New Straits Times Press head office in Bangsar.
A total of six lucky winners walked away with attractive prizes in the form of Ninebot personal transportation robots, Modenas motorbikes, a television set as well as a brand-new Peugeot 208.
Present at the ceremony were NSTP group managing director Datuk Abdul Jalil Hamid, Cars Bikes & Trucks editor and NST-MAI Asean Autoshow organising chairman Yamin Vong as well as sponsors’ representatives.
For the NST-Maybank People’s Choice contest, the award was based on votes received from the contest held during the autoshow last year from November 12 to 15 at the Mines International Exhibition and Convention Centre.
Event patrons voted for their favourite Car of the Year based on a list of 59 new cars nominated for the 2015 NST-Maybank Car of the Year awards. They were required to fill in a slogan on the winning qualities of their picks.
The top three winners are Mohamad Imran Thoulath, who won the grand prize of a Ninebot P personal transportation robot, Leona Chin who won the second prize of a Modenas motorbike and third prize winner Shankar A/L Sitarasu who brought home a Sharp 40-inch television set.
Coincidentally, all three winners are Maybank account holders, which automatically entitled them to additional prize money of RM1,000, RM500 and RM250 respectively.
On the other hand, the grand prize winner of the NST-MAI Asean Autoshow lucky draw, Syed Salleh Syed Mohd Yatim, scooped a brand-new Peugeot 208 whereas the second prize winner Chu Tuck Hoy rode home on a Modenas motorbike. Lee Jun Chung, who won the third prize, won a Ninebot 1 personal transportation robot.
Visitors who purchased event tickets instantly stood a chance to win attractive prizes in the lucky draw contest. Several thousands of entries were received and the draw was held on December 7 last year at the NSTP head office.
