Rolls-Royce to make a presence in Goodwood

POSTED BY CBT Team ON 11 July 2013

The latest addition to the Rolls-Royce luxurious line up, the Wraith, will be participating in the Goodwood Festival of Speed, essentially returning home to familiar turf, with the Home of Rolls-Royce within sight of Goodwood House.

Rolls-Royce has put its hallmark attributes of luxury, refinement and hand-craftsmanship in the heart of the Wraith as with its other models, but the Wraith is unique in its power, style and presence. Its engine generates 624hp and 800Nm at 1,500rpm and can go from a standstill to 100km/h in 4.6 seconds. The ultimate gentlemen’s gran turismo, Wraith can be seen between Hillclimbs in the Supercar Paddock.

Other than the Wraith, Rolls-Royce will also play a significant part in the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed, with its Centenary Alpine Trial ‘Works Team’, Moving Motor Show, Soapbox Challenge and it will also be the brand of choice for the course director’s car, a Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupé, resplendent with race lights and Goodwood decals which will be seen between each Hillclimb Run throughout the weekend.

Having successfully completed the 1800-mile Centenary Alpine Trial two weeks ago, Rolls-Royce will be presenting the ‘Works Team’ that joined 47 Silver Ghosts, most of which over a century old, in the event.

The original 1913 ‘Radley Car’ and the new 2013 Alpine Trial Centenary Ghost will travel up the Hillclimb side by side four times each day in celebration of the Rolls-Royce being declared as making “the best cars in the world” by the commentators at the original event.

Rolls-Royce is providing invited guests with the opportunity to drive a brand new Rolls-Royce Phantom or Rolls-Royce Alpine Trial Centenary Ghost around the Goodwood Estate during the Moving Motor Show today, while a new Rolls-Royce Wraith will be on static display on the Rolls?Royce stand throughout the weekend.

A fleet of Rolls-Royce motor cars will also be evident in the Goodwood area during the Festival of Speed, with invited guests being conveyed in luxury from the company’s manufacturing plant and head office on the south-eastern corner of the Goodwood Estate.
