Nasim hands over Peugeot official cars for 2017 SEA Games

Nasim SdnBhd, the official distributor of Peugeot cars in Malaysia, together with Naza Corporation Holdings indicated their ambitions to become the major driving force behind the Kuala Lumpur 2017 Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) by providing the official cars.

During the handover ceremony, which took place at the Peugeot showroom in Glenmarie, 298 fleet cars were announced to be delivered by stages. The fleet comprised the Peugeot 408, the 508 and the Traveller range, all readily wrapped with the KL2017 branding.

On hand to receive this noble sponsorship was Youth and Sports Minister Brig Gen Khairy Jamaluddin accompanied by officials from the Youth and Sports Ministry, Malaysia SEA Games Organising Committee (MASOC) and Olympic Council of Malaysia.

Speaking at the ceremony, Khairy said, “We are proud to have Naza and Peugeot as a Platinum Sponsor of the KL2017. Peugeot is an established premium automotive brand that has been supporting various sporting events across the world and we are proud to have them as part of this remarkable journey.

“In return, MASOC will strive to ensure that we deliver an efficient and seamless transport management for our stakeholders during the Games.”

Naza Corporation Holdings’ group executive chairman and group chief executive officer SM Nasarudin Tan Sri SM Nasimuddinsaid, “It is an honour for Naza to be part of this spectacle and we hope that these 298 cars would deliver prestige, quality and a spectacular driving and passenger experience for all at the KL2017.

“Naza’s theme of Driving Champions (#DrivingChampions) signifies our proud efforts to be part of the nation’s history and ambition to be champions of both the 29th SEA Games and the 9th ASEAN Para Games.”

Apart from the fleet of official cars for KL2017, Peugeot also launched the pledge car – the Peugeot 208 – that will be used to unify the nation in support of Malaysian athletes at the KL2017.

The company is also offering 100 free tickets for 50 lucky winners to watch the glittering opening of the KL2017 at Bukit Jalil National Stadium on Aug 19.

All fans have to do to be in the running for the tickets is take a picture with the pledge car accompanied by a caption or message and include #PeugeotMalaysia, #DrivingChampions and #NazaCorp when they post it on social media.

The KL2017 SEA Games will be held from Aug 19 to 30 followed by the ASEAN Para Games from Sept 17 to 23.
